  • In Blyth's system of classification (1849), a division of his Syndactyli; a group including the kingfishers, the rollers and bee-eaters, the jacamars and todies, and the motmots or sawbills. These families of birds were arranged in three superfamilies, Cylindrirostres, Angulirostres, and Serratirostres.
