  • A family of cryptocephalous Polychæta having the peristomium enormously developed and in the form of a bilobed hood capable of closing over the mouth, the lobes bearing defensive chætæ. It contains the single marine genus Sabellaria or Hermella, which lives in tubes in the sand.
