• noun That type of parthenogenesis in which the unfertilized eggs produce males and females: contrasted with homoparthenogenesis, or the production of only one sex from unfertilized eggs. Parthenogenetic female animals which produce both males and females are called sexupara. See normal parthenogenesis and sexupara.
• noun Mixed parthenogenesis, or the alternation of sexual and parthenogenetic generations. See normal parthenogenesis.
