  • A small family of selachians, of the order Opistharthri, having 6 or 7 gillsacs, a spiracle, a well-defined lateral line, only 1 dorsal fin, no nictitating membrane, and diversiform teeth; the cow-sharks. It contains a few species. Also called Notidanidæ.
