  • noun In naval architecture, the moment, at any given point, of the forces which tend to cause a vessel to hog: opposed to sagging-moment, that which tends to cause a vessel to sag. These moments for each point in the length of a vessel are plotted in a curve of bending-moments. See curves of ship calculations.
