- n. A member of one of the first Armenian patriotic revolutionary societies which arose against the oppressive misrule of the tyrant Sultan Abd-ul-Hamid II. of Turkey. The society published a paper for its propaganda, called Hunchág, which had with the title the picture of a bell, symbolizing its mission to awaken the people.
