  • noun In the dicyclic crinoids, one of the lowest series of plates in the test or calyx adjoining the column or stem or, where that is absent, the single centrodorsal plate. The infrabasals and the basals together constitute the base of the crinoid in dicyelic forms. Sometimes termed under-basal.
