I have read both blogs, and I have a 7 year old, there is a added point here that needs to be stated, my kido is a only child so friends are very important for us to encourage that interaction that solcialization is a big part, I work from home so he doesn't have to go to child care, so I do allow him to call friends and friends call him, however its monitered closly I have discoverd a child that I didn't know is home alone after school and would call me to help him with homework until a big brother or sister would get home, so it did open doors for me to get to know another family I otherwise would have never new.
