• noun A genus of tall perennial herbs of the natural order Malvaccæ type of Reichenbach's division Kitaibelieæ of the tribe Malveæ, the present subtribe Malopeæ, distinguished from Malope by having the style stigmatic at the apex, and from other related genera by its 6 to 9 bracts united at the base.
