Koinobiont parasitoids allow the host to continue its development and often do not kill or consume the host until the host either is about to pupate or become an adult; this therefore typically involves living within an active, mobile host. In turn, koinobionts can be subdivided further into endoparasitoids, which develop inside body of the host, and ectoparasitoids, which develop outside the host body, though the parasitoids frequently are attached or embedded in the host's tissues.
