The best tofu hot pot stew is at cho dang gol on 35th and for lunch it’s only $8 with the best banchan (free small dishes) in koreatown overall in my opinion.

From my own personal experience i went into the koreatown Pinkberry and asked for three toppings the blackberry, raspberry, and mochi.

There were things on the menu i didn't order because it just felt wrong - korean things. jahp chae, galbee, and kimchi bokeumbop. they were translated into ingrish on the menu, though - korean barbecued shorts ribs, chili kimchi fried rice. i think if i want to eat korean food, i would go into koreatown.

lunch was good, not great, though a tiny bit expensive for about $15 per person. i wouldn't drive to koreatown for it, but if i'm already there near western and wilshire, and need some sushi, furusato will do.

jaht jook (pine nut rice porridge) with nori goma furikake there are a few restaurants in koreatown that "do jook." san on 8th street specializes in it, and is very well known for their jun-bok jook. other korean late-night cafe/bistro-type places like hodori, nakwon, and ko-ggi-ree (aka elephant snack) also have jook on their menus.
