  • n. A genus of fossil ferns established by Lesquereux (1880). It is related to Neuropteris by some of its characters, and to Megalopteris by others. It differs from Glossopteris in that its venation is dichotomous and not reticulate. Two species have been described, one from the base of the Chester limestone in Illinois, the other from the bituminous coal of Kansas.
