- A family of heterocœlous calcareous sponges having the flagellated chambers branched and opening into the exhalant canals which converge toward the oscula, the outer ends being covered over by a dermal poriferous membrane, and the skeleton being composed of irregular radiate spicules. It includes the genus Leucascus.
