I looked over at Jackie and thatâ€ ™ s the last linear-time memory I have except three other things.
The notional difference is that lists are explicitly made of two-element cons cells, so can be improper lists, while vectors are restricted to being sequences of elements, with no expectations about their representation other than that they're more likely to have characteristics like a contiguous array in memory eg, constant-time indexing, but possibly linear-time concatenation.
