  • noun A name given to Jews of the Lithuanian provinces, by their coreligionists of the Polish government. The former, in turn, call the latter Pollacks or Pollackim. See Pollack. There is a marked difference in the Yiddish jargon as well as in the mannerisms of the two classes.
