  • noun A name given by E. R. Lankester to a grade of Gnathopoda (or Arthropoda) containing only the class Peripatidea, which itself consists of the single genus Peripatus, thus contrasted with a grade or series Condylopoda, including all other crustaceans, insects, etc.
