Report Abuse yea yankeepunk from what i heard matsui wouldnt sign with the yankees for that little. but then he realized he wasnt going to get that kind of money so he settled for 6.5 mil a year. still i would rather take my chances teaching matsui to play first to give teix a spell than deal with johnson and his oft injured wrist.

If we could somehow trade matsui for nothing and have the team absorb 10 mil of his contract, we would be around 186 mil.

April 18th, 2009 at 3: 17 pm it really doesn't appear to be making sense. why bring up miranda. why have anthony c over dave r. maybe something else is going to be happening. if matsui really took a step backward like giradi said put him on the dl.

Outside of Arod over Lowell, Jeter over Lowrie and Ortiz over Matsui is hard to say there are any real big differences in terms of impact but arod is a world better than lowell and jeter a world better than lowrie while matsui if healthy could potentially put up numbers close to ortiz although highly unlikely.
