thelonmon i haven't been to the de young since herzog & de meuron built their new green meshy thing - so perhaps their collection has improved since then: but it used to be crap with exception of the bouguereau parlor paintings. it's for the best, really, as any artist will profit more, artistically, sketching at sfmoma.
