  • One of two prime sections of the parasitic hymenopterous family Chalcididæ, containing the seven subfamilies which have the tarsi three- or four-jointed (usually four-jointed, rarely heteromerous), anterior tibiæ) with a slender short straight spur, and antenna) usually few-jointed. They are nearly all of small size.
