  • A subtribe of plants of the order Scrophularineæ and the tribe Gratioleæ, characterized by a fivetoothed calyx, by having the stamens inserted within the corolla-tube, with the anther-cells contiguous, and by a loculicidal capsule with two or four valves. The subtribe embraces 6 genera, Mimulus being the type, and about 56 species.
