I had a film prof. in college who gave us old film from the local tv station. We had to use a pin, or needle to etch, frame, by frame, our animation out of the "background" of the existing frames. My 60 seconds of film was a girl's high school basketball game. It was an agonizing task. Frame-by-stinking-frame, I etched a flower growing from a seed, then dropping its petals. I dropped out of film and went into copywriting.
Obviously I didn't have what it takes to be a filmmaker! This person does.
