We could wing some stale cookies instead, but they might be dangerous--National Cookie Day was in January.

I think it should be something like August 22. You have to let them get good and stale before it's okay to throw them without feeling guilty about not eating them instead.
Are there leftover cupcakes today? I imagine 19 August should be National Cupcake-Fight Day.

I agree. We need more cavity-inducing holidays!
I don't think so rt, but when I was searching for a link for this page, I did discover that apparently you also get to celebrate National Chocolate Cupcake Day (18 October) and National Lemon Cupcake Day (15 December), although their authenticity seems questionable.
There are just not enough confectionary related holidays in the world.
Ooh! Just the perfect day to give a cupcake to chained_bear! ;->
I wonder whether Australia has celebrations equivalent to these?
Today (18/08/2008) is National Cupcake Day, as I just heard on the radio. It's a fundraising initiative for the RSPCA (how appropriate).
