  • In Heller systems, the steam is condensed by spraying water directly into the exhaust flow in a ratio of about 50: 1 (called "direct contact jet condensing"), creating a large volume of warm water, some of which is pumped back to the boiler as the working fluid and the rest of which is pumped to bundles of tubes arrayed at the base of a natural-draft hyperbolic cooling tower.
