  • noun A family of physonectous siphonophorans. The forms are polygastric, with a short vesicular stem and branched tentacles, the stem bearing numerous siphons, palpons, and bracts, the nectocalyxes being in two or four rows and the pneumatophore having radial pouches. It includes the genera Nectalia and Sphyrophysa.
