Registered: May 9, 2006 here's my problem: i have a 17in optiquest q7-3 set at a resolution of 1280 x 1024. when the macboook is woken from sleep i get a flash on the macbooks screen and everything is fine. however, when i disconnect the vga adapter and later reattach it the resolution of the 17 in monitor is 1024 x 768. not just randomly, but every time. as an aside it was curious that the day i bought my macbook i had to ask if they had the mini display port to vga adapter as none were on display at the apple store (a week later they still aren't) a sales person had to go fetch one from the room behind the cashier. it might be noted that as of two minutes ago i could find no sign of the adapter at the online apple store. have they been recalled or discontinued already?
