  • noun An extinct genus of Equidæ, not in the main line of descent to the modern horse. It is characterized by low-crowned, bunolophodont teeth, sometimes covered by a thin layer of cement, and tridactyl digitigrade feet. It occurs in the Middle and Upper Eocene of Europe.
