  • In Byzantine church arch., of or relating to the parabemata: said specifically of a dome which, instead of resting on four de-tached piers, as in the typical form, is supported on the east side on the extremities of the walls of the parabemata, and on the west side either on piers or on the extremities of the walls of the antiparabemata when these are present.
