  • noun In weaving: A box at each side of a loom in which are placed a number of shuttles any of which may be thrown along the shed by an automatic device, according to the pattern of the fabric. See pattern-chain and pattern-cylinder. Also called shuttle-box.
  • noun The box perforated to accord with the harness-cards of a Jacquard loom. Also called prism or cylinder.
