• A family of starfishes of the order Cryptozonia, which have opposite ambulacral ossicles, a small disk, narrow subcylindrical rays, biserial podia, and the abactinal skeleton consisting of narrow plates forming a quadrangular network. It includes the genera Pedicellaster, Coronaster, Gastraster, and Lytaster.
