  • Pertaining to the Pelmatozoa; having the characters of the sessile Pelmatozoa; that is, having the body inclosed in a calyx or theca of many calcareous plates, elevated with its oral surface uppermost upon a column of calcareous plates, and with the mouth, arms, and madreporic plate lying in the sagittal plane of pentamerous radial symmetry, as in the typical Cystoidea, Blastoidea, Crinoidea, and Edrioasteroidea.
