Two issues here: 1 Clergy-penitant confidentiality and privilege, which Texas did not enact until about 1968, laws and church bylaws both tend to fail to specify when this can be used i nchurch discipline, just as there is a similar unfortunate grey area if student reveals something to teacher guidance counselor, principal, etc.
