• noun A genus of worm-like entozoic parasitic organisms representing the family Pentastomidæ and order Pentastomoidea; the pentastomes, five-mouths, or tonguelets: so called because of four hooklets near the mouth, which give, with the mouth itself, an appearance of five mouths.
