  • noun An osazone, C18H22O4N4, made by the action of phenyl-hydrazinehydrochlorid and sodium acetate on glucose or fructose: also formed by warming cane-sugar or dextromannoso with phenylhy-drazine. It forms yellow, needle-like crystals which are nearly insoluble in water and melt at 204–205° C.
