Organized in 1990, the initial plan of the Pecan Museum's officers and directors was to construct a building that paid homage to the most popular pie-filling in the county, but after purchasing a six-acre site along Interstate 10 in 1995, funding problems arose and the project began to look as if it would fade into oblivion.
