The singer is thought to be an advantage due to being the last person to sing right before the voting begins, thus they are the freshest in voter's minds. Many favored contestants have performed in the pimp slot, suggesting that the choice of performance order is not entirely random and is in fact, determined by the producers, who have contestants they favor.
