  • noun A genus of fossil capuloid gastropods having shells with large body-whorls and small bent or spirally inrolled apex with smooth folded or spinose surface. The genus is represented by numerous species ranging from Upper Cambrian to the Trias, and is specially abundant in Lower Devonian and Subcarboniferous formations.
