  • Immediately before midday; specifically [capitalized], in geology, according to Professor H. D. Rogers's nomenclature of the Paleozoic rocks, noting that part of the series which lies between the Meridian and the Scalent. It corresponds to part of the Lower Helderberg of the New York Survey.
