Putting off an important task because one feels anxious, guilty, or even ashamed. These feelings make an individual less likely to have the emotional and cognitive energy to be productive. These feelings also make one even less likely to begin a particular task in the first place. Which makes one feel guilty. Which makes one less productive. And around it goes.
