• noun A genus of Moncra, represented by an organism which consists of a number of myxopods run together into an active plasmodium, which, becoming quiescent and encysted, undergoes fissive multiplication within the cyst, and gives rise to a number of germs which alternate between the myxopod and the mastigopod state.
