  • noun A general term for the illusions of memory in which the subject appears to remember events that he has never experienced, including simple paramnesia (confusion of imagination with memory), identifying paramnesia (false familiarity or double memory), and suggestive or associative paramnesia (false recollections aroused by present impressions).
