I see 10.04.1 is another iteration of the 2.6.32 kernel; I've been using the 2.6.34 mainline kernel to get proper support for my graphics card (Radeon Mobility X1600); I searched for "radeon" in the release notes, but didn't really see anything that sounded like my problem (jittery external monitor); in general, will a fix in a mainline kernel like 2.6.34 make it into 10.04 LTS releases???

Ubuntu-8. 10 will not install fglrx by default. you may need to do it driver 'radeon' does not fully support your card
