Am I the only one that realized that Melvin Mora was out of position and reimold threw directly above his head (which is what I thought was the proper way to throw).

Throw a Matt Wieters, a developing Brandon Snyder, Brandon Waring, among others, and a core of roberts, markakis, reimold, jones, and scott and I say we have nothing to fear for the future.

However ... unload Freel now to a NL team that needs an occasional starter / defensive switch / double switch type player. the orioles acquired pie for virtually nothing, and like the article says, he has no options left. starting him in left is the only possibility for the O's. if he does well, most likely the O's will trade him and get something more than what they gave away. if he does'nt do well, than reimold or montenez will come up and pie will be let go.

It is time for the O's to stop making stupid mistakes with young players. if beregeson pitches really well in spring training why not give him a shot in the rotation. the lack of strikeouts is no big deal. if you have good control and can get guys to groundout on your pitch you throw less pitches in a game than those who are strikeout pitchers. you really only need a strikeout with a man on third and no outs or one out. if guys like lou hernandez, reimold, beregeson, berken, penn and weiters have great spring trainings how can you send them to the minors if they play their way onto the team. time to play young guys who will form the foundation of the major league club. no need for some 35 yr old over the hill the free agent to fill in a spot on the roster.
