  • In Huxley's classification, a superclass of vertebrates; one of three prime divisions of Vertebrata, in which birds and reptiles are brigaded together and contrasted on the one hand with Ichthyopsida, or amphibians and fishes, and on the other with Mammalia, or mammals.
