Funny you were talking about the Acer laptop at the end there, my gf has one and it automatically shuts down when weare looking at alternative news, or Docu's on Gmail, I don't think that it is genuinely the inbuilt microphone that causes the shut down directly to cesor the information, but I do think it plays a part, back to when you were playing the clip about mobilephones running down on battery very quickly and heating up when being hacked I think the same thing is happening, the system obviously has an inbuilt high-temp auto-shutdown, what's funny is that the inbuilt microphone coupled with the shutdowns was the reason that she woke up as well.
