  • noun Agenus of terebratuloid brachiopods which have shells of large size with a long loop following the margin of the dorsal valve, a median ventral septum, and a very long cardinal process. The genus is very characteristic of the Middle Devonian (Stringocephalus limestone) of Europe. See limestone.
