A recently discovered, genetically distinct, population of whales, found in the seas off the coast of Newfoundland, all sharing a single genetic polymorphism which causes noticeable disruption in their song-patterns, most commonly characterized by scientists as being similar to the phenomenon of stuttering in humans.
Similar in nature to the phenomenon of fainting goats, whose abnormality also stems from a single nucleotide polymorphism, or SNP.
A recent pop cultural reference to stuttering whales can be found in the 2005 satirical rap, or pasquinade by Eminem, entitled "M-M-M-M-oby".
