Prepare a pan of fresh, clean snow. Boil maple sirup until a spoonful, dropped on the snow, does not sink in and vanish but forms a waxy candy on top. Serve hop in cups offering with each cup a pan of fresh snow. Sugar on snow with unsweetened doughnuts, pickles and coffee are the basis of the famous Vermont Sugar Suppers.
