Holi is celebrated in Gokul by the use of organic colours, usually extracted from flowers such as tesu (Flame of the Forest).
Legend says that Lord Krishna played holi with dried tesu flowers, and it is the traditional belief that the Hindu god plays Holi with his devotees in Gokul.
Hi, got some help from tesu on another thread but i am struggling to get this working. my individual query returns 2 results which is correct from the database.
You can use haldi mixed with flour for dry yellow colour, boiled and soaked petals of pomegranate for yellow colour, beetroot pieces soaked in water for magenta, petals of flowers of semul / tesu for saffron, lime mixed with haldi for a deep red and henna powder mixed with flour for mehndi colour.
