  • noun A tall tree of the linden family, Apeiba Tibourbou, of Venezuela, Guiana, and Brazil, which yields a fiber resembling Russian bast. Its spiny fruits resemble a chestnut-bur, for which reason it is called erizo (hedgehog) in Venezuela and Colombia.
