  • noun One of two substances which, according to the doctrine of Arrhenius and Madsen, are formed during the interaction between toxin and antitoxin, the other boing terraed toxinan. During the interaction between toxoid and antitoxin titoxin is also formed, but in the place of toxinan another product results which is termed toxoinan.
